Who Do You Put Your Trust In?

The Voice
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Eternal, “plans for peace, not evil, to give you a future and hope—never forget that.
Jeremiah 29:11

We often blame God when things go wrong for us. But right here in Jeremiah, He tells us that His plans for us are good. The one we should be blaming is satan. The fallen angel who took a third of the angels with him. They rule over this earth. All of the things that eat at us are caused by satan. Disease, war, famine, death, all of these things and many more are not of God.

Adam and Eve were tempted and fell for the deceit of this evil one. It brought doom on the whole of mankind. However God knew and planned for that eventualilty. Jesus. God's plan destroyed all the plans for a complete takeover. Those who turn to Christ and accept His gift of Grace, will be saved from an eternity of damnation. This is your future and hope. And never forget that!

What do you put your trust and faith in?

Members in Action

This time of year activities abound here at MacArthur Blvd Christian Church.

Our Mexico Team is ramping up their fundraising projects. The first one was the Portland Marathon. Next will be their wreathes and Christmas tree sales.

The women just had their fall retreat. (see last week’s blog). Everyone had a great time and came home recharged.

The worship team is beginning to think about Christmas activities and specials.

But before that, we have our Trunk or Treat on Halloween from 5:30 PM-7 PM in our parking lot. We are also collecting food for our Thanksgiving Boxes which we hand out to those who need a bit of help.

As you can see, we are a busy bunch of people who love serving others and God. Come and join us as we deepen our own faith and share it with others.

A Moment to Slow Down

This weekend a group of us will gather for a retreat. There will be much laughing, chatting, listening, singing, and just hanging out.

We all have several things in common: We are women, followers of Christ and in need of some 'down time' from our regular hectic schedules.

We'll have time to be inspired and encouraged in our walk with God. We'll be able to encourage others and be encouraged ourselves. We'll have time to sit and chat, take a nap, work on a hobby like quilting, sewing, crafting, or read a book.

Someone else will prepare the food and all we'll have to do is dish up and hand in our dirty dishes for someone else to clean.

And when Sunday afternoon comes, we'll head back to our families hopefully refreshed, encouraged and ready to dive back into the craziness we call real life.
